The WWII A.F.0210 strap is one of the most celebrated designs in military horology. At Lobtime, we paid homage to this iconic piece by recreating its exact original pattern and full construction, down to every single detail.

Our creation is crafted with direct reference to an authentic, original WWII A.F.0210 specimen in our private possession, ensuring 100% historical accuracy in both fabric construction and hardware replication.

Sourcing the Canvas

When we conceived the idea for this project, the most daunting challenge was sourcing authentic vintage duffel bags to serve as our raw material. Throughout this collection process, we strictly vetted every source, refusing to sacrifice quality for quantity. In a market flooded with counterfeits and modern replicas, we had to be meticulous. Materials with excessive wear or structural damage were strictly rejected, ensuring every single strap is crafted from genuine, high-caliber antique bags.

After months of relentless global sourcing, we secured a finite collection of exceptional vintage bags. Our first step was to painstakingly unsew each piece, restoring the bags into raw sheets of fabric. With some bags dating back to the 1940s, decades of accumulated history and dust were deeply embedded within the fibers. To guarantee absolute hygiene, every piece of fabric underwent rigorous professional laundering and disinfection. Rest assured, while you are deciding on your piece of history, you are receiving a genuine, thoroughly sanitized antique canvas strap.

Replicating the Legacy: 100% Accurate Hardware 

 Securing the fabric was only half the battle; the next step was the watch buckle. Because we committed to 100% historical accuracy based on our original WWII specimen, finding a ready-made alternative on the market was impossible. The original vintage buckle design is simply too distinctive. To perfectly replicate its historical appearance, we custom-engineered our own molds from scratch. 

We began with 3D drafting and prototyping for precise fitment, preserving defining original features like the integrated frame buckle and the prominent tongue. Next came the brass-casting mold, followed by production, hand-polishing, and distressed finish. While hardware manufacturing requires technical precision, it was the relentless hunt for the historic fabric that truly tested our resolve.

A True Vintage Experience

True to the original military specifications, this strap does not come with pre-made holes—the fit is personalized by you. While the buckle tongue features a pointed tip, it has been modified slightly for safety and will not pierce the heavy canvas on its own. To assist you in customizing your fit, a dedicated punching tool is included with every strap.
